Every 30 years or so, the Influenza virus will mutate into a Supervirus that would result in a pandemic. The 1918 Spanish Influenza was the most deadly in the world's history, killing more than 20 million people in just a year, that's 20,000,000.
Scientists are now trying to crack the genetic code of the Spanish flu virus, hoping that we can stop the next pandemic. The next pandemic is already due, it might be the swine flu or any other flu, we'll never know until it starts to claim lifes.
